This perplexes me because others have your same comment, but it makes no sense. Metricom has every other system beat in at least one component- cheaper than a phone line and modem on a monthly bases, faster than all the other portable connections, more mobile than everything that's faster than it. You compared against landlines on cost and wireless on speed. Unfortunately, someone who hasn't yet tried wireless would compare against landlines on speed and ..... but as you pointed out Ricochet still beats other wireless solutions on cost. People get blinded by the speed they can get on land lines and ignore all other considerations. I also would like more speed (and can't wait until Autobahn is out) but the flexibility of Ricochet's wireless communications more than makes up for the slower speed for me. I have access to another ISP account through work using dial up and almost never use that one even though it would be faster.
