Interesting bits from G* communications magazine: Chinasat is service provider/partner in China--they are the managing body of all telecom under the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications(MPT). The MPT is the only ministry authorized to provide telecom service there. Iridium hooked up with Ministry of Aerospace and ICO with Trans. Ministry. Current G* plans(end 97) call for 400,000 phones by end of 2005 and 600,000 in 2010. "The number served will only be limited by the capacity of the satellites themselves."
