How about keeping the initial purchase price when you go long and carry the same stock into the next week (like in the real world). For example, I picked Orckit last week and stuck with it this week. Now I belive I am going to be punished for holding because the stock gapped at the open. What do you think?

<<I have been opposing this idea since the beginning since the purpose of the system has
been to reward the better ideas not to punish losers. In my opinion not being rewarded
is a punishment itself. On top of all I think a succession of a few weeks of heavy loses
may make a person cool off from competition as well.>>
Unfortunately, though, in the real world of investing/speculating, losers get heavily punished. I was just suggesting to make it more realistic to real life investing. Also, once someone gets ahead, it's easier for them to stay up, because they don't lose much when they make a bad choice. Anyway, I'll still play, whatever.
