Here's an interesting one from today's Globe:

It reports on the holdings of Guardian Capital where their holdings are over 10% of issued shares.

What is significant is the # of Trusts and REIT's of which the company owns over 10%.

Some standard companies:

Thomson (18%)
Sherritt (13%)
Slocan (19.5%)

Then the Trusts:

REE.IR - Residential Equities REIT (almost 16%)
VKR.UN - Viking Energy Royalty Trust (almost 14%)
TAY.UN - Taylor Gas Liquids Fund (15.6%)
MXT.UN - Maximum Energy Trust (11.7%)
PWI.UN - PrimeWest Energy Trust (11%)
HOT.IR - Canadian Hotel Income Properties REIT (10.5%)
CPL.IR - CPL Long Term Care REIT (12.3%)

Does anyone see any significance in the degree or depth of these holdings?
