It looks to me like the shelf money was originally for the AMTX deal but is now intended for some other purpose. The original filings were in October after the WSTL/AMATI merger was announced Oct. 1. TXN stepped in during November. Yet WSTL made additional filings related to the shelf offering in December and recently mailed us all proxy materials related to the issuance of new shares under the shelf offering.

I certainly hope they are not wasting my money mailing me proxy materials about stock offerings they never intend to do.

I agree that in a buyout, ORCTF would probably want more $$$ per share, but maybe the merger could be sold as a strategic benefit to both companies.

I'm obviously just guessing, but I think WSTL has something in mind for that money.
