Welcome to Unitec, Brad. Watch this thread as we have some very strong supporters that are watching our struggles with enthusiasm.

Yes, Tom D. is my brother in law. His wife, Deborah, is my wife's younger sister. I spent a few days skiing on Hudson Bay mountain over the Christmas Holidays and they came up to spend some time with us. I will be up again this summer (need to work on the property and house), perhaps we can meet then if you don't get down here before then.

If you like the GE Simplicity, you will love Unitec Gold. We have not competed directly with GE or Allen Bradley on any systems, as they sell through systems integrators. We routinely integrate their equipment into our systems where they have installed them in various stations for motor control. We ran into GE-Fanuc PLCs in the Abbotsford system. One of our strengths is in the protocol conversion and multiple protocol handling capability that our systems have.

System integrators have a hard time competing with us as they will buy the GE, Allen Bradley, Modicon or other PLCs, then need to add modems, chargers and other peripheral equipment which is standard in ours and priced only slightly higher than their basic PLC. Plus, we have more communications horsepower for the applications we are in.

We have been approached by two of the major international SCADA manufactures who expressed an interest in discontinuing their own product in return for an exclusive from us. Might be a good deal in the short run, but not good for the long term.

We have a very powerful intelligent radio communications protocol, UIC-IP. ABB has asked if we would help them out with a major radio communications problem with their Motorola supplied systems. We have a lot of good things going for us, just need a little more support from our banks and the market.

Welcome again, I look forward to chatting with you more.

Best regards,

John
