Any thoughts on what might be providing the resistance and what might provide the impetus for some upside movement (Thursday's contract was so quickly digested / disregarded)?

I'm a bit puzzled, too, but looking at the other networkers I have to think it's not NN-specific. Ascend had a good quarterly report --- beat the estimate by a penny --- and closed down on Thursday and again today.

Today's close:

ASND down 1/16
BAY down 7/16
CS down 7/8
FORE down 7/16
CSCO down 1/2
NN down 29/64

Why they're down as a group, I don't know. With GTE's ADSL announcement today, I'd expect some upward movement, not down.

It may just be what's going on in Washington this week --- the IMF, World Bank and G-Seven are all meeting and Asia is very much on their minds. I would expect the whole market to be cautious until these groups make their thoughts public.

Just my take.
