Sid... I certainly admire the fact that you have an old fashioned desire to do what is morally right, as you put it. I wish more of your type existed. If so, I wouldn't have to pay big fees to brokerage firms for their research or spend all that time researching on my own.

Then upon the same line of reasoning, I think: I am going to use Sid as my new equity analyst. However, before I could commit to you as my advisor, I had to do a check on your previous track record. I had to see if your methods of analysis were proven. Don't take offence. If I were buying a mutual fund, I would check the fund manager's past performance and investment philosophy. In short, I wanted to see if your research methods have paid off in other stock scenarios.

My first step was to get a hold of your past selections. You had posted many messages on the Ballard (BLDPF) thread. I thought that would be a great starting point. As I read through some of your postings, I realized that your comments were very negative. I wont go into detail, but you basically rendered their technology useless and predicted the stock to trade single digits. The negativity reminded me of some of your DHMG postings. In fact, on one occasion the company came out with very good news (Ford Motor deal) and Hawkeye invited you to try and put a negative spin on the announcement (reply 1423). This just evidencing the fact that you always had something negative to say about the company no matter what the course of events.

I went back, thinking maybe you were the right on this one, to check on the BLDPF stock price. It turns out that the stock had been trading in the $50 range. Weeks later, the stock traded to the $70 range on some good news. HarveyO posted you a message asking if you were mad the stock price had risen so significantly. You responded,"...I am pleased it has gotten this high because it is finally ripe for shorting. I was waiting for a high volume reversal day accompanied by good news to be the top..." In fact in a Dec 26 message to Earlie, you wrote: " Short BLDPF @ $79.25. My candidate for the most overpriced stock in the world." Well to be curt, BLDPF traded over $130 in the next couple of months and currently trades around $120. You didn't like the stock at $50 and at $79 you hated it. Had I taken your advice, I would have been up to my ears in margin calls and would have been forced to cover, loosing the shirt off my back.

Dear Sid... I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you. I know you don't have a crystal ball and I don't expect you to be a prophet. But what it all boils down to is you were so CERTAIN BLDPF was going to get crushed and it went the other way. By your same methods of analysis, you are CERTAIN DHMG is going to zero. Could you be on the wrong side again? You might be.
