Regarding your comment about the safety of the VRD.

I understand that the light from the VRD is 10,000 to 100,000 times less than considered safe by ANSI. Also note that it was reported to
help a blind person with cataracts see again. I don't believe the micro-display competition can lay claim to that! Finally, if the company is to successfully market the VRD to the medical profession, one would have to believe the VRD would come under the greatest safety scrutiny.

Discovered this UW HITL paper confirming the safety of the VRD, titled, "Safety Analysis of a Retinal Scanning Display System...The power levels indicate that the VRD is safe in normal operating mode and in failure modes." See the following:
