For those who do not believe that there is NO manipulation in the NASDAQ stock market please read:

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter (MWD:NYSE) has been fined $1 million by
the regulatory arm of the National Association of Securities Dealers
for manipulating the price of 10 Nasdaq 100 securities. NASD Regulation
said the violations involved two separate options-expiration Fridays in
1995. A Morgan Stanley spokeswoman said the company strongly
disagrees with the fine and will file an appeal.

They were manipulating the stocks to close in favor of their option positions. They have probably made millions over the years doing this and will appeal just for show.
