...So it isn't anything that doesn't happen in established companies also...

Melissa, sometimes I wonder if you read messages fully before you rattle off a reply. Read my message again.

To All, Has anybody heard of a privately held company called Moss Micro? It is my understanding that it competes directly with Siebel
Systems. Any comments?

Shege:

Gotta side with melissa on this one. Established companies do move around their announcement dates. sometimes to avoid overlapping with competitors or sometimes to avoid overlapping with msft since the technology investment community is always on that call.

Cisco is the best of the best in this regard, they always announce their next earnings conference call during the current conference call and it's always the first week after the quarter close - absolutely amazing for a global company.

Their aren't any rules or regulations regarding timing that i'm aware of other than reporting within a certain period after the end of the quarter. This earnings pre-release stuff is fairly new and doesn't seem to be required if a company is going to report good or bad news.
