>That means a "yes man" evolutionary path will be set up

No. What Jobs wants is brilliance - "yes men" can't deliver. He has said 10 excellent people are better than 100 average people (paraphrased) and I agree. He doesn't tolerate bulls**t. He would accept an argument that makes sense TO HIM. This may not be "fair" but will produce excellent results if he can get the right people

They are very tough to find, but Tevanian for example fits the mold and is obviously sticking with Steve.

If Jobs came to me and asked me to sell my business and come change the world with him ("or just keep selling sugar water to kids" like he said to Sculley) I would.

Love him or hate him, he is the man for the job.

That article is a chilling reality check to all loyal Apple supporters. It show how jobs has not
changed, learned or evolved a more effective management style

Interesting how one sees what one wants to see. "Chilling reality check"? I read the article and found nothing "chilling" about it. So Jobs can be an assh*le sometimes. Probably not a particularly unusual trait for a CEO. I also read how board members (who are highly successful CEO's themselves) found his performance thusfar at Apple "astonishing". Reading about Jeffrey Daumer is "chilling". Reading about Jobs is interesting, but offered nothing more than what most of us knew or suspected, and reinforces the idea that he is on the right track.

JB

p.s. I suspect that you are a short seller. Otherwise, I don't understand why you are constantly searching for reasons to bash the company (and I'm not talking about not wanting "objective" criticism of Apple, which I consider helpful).

Lest ye Jobs bashers forget, Bill Gates has been accused of many of the same tantrums and infantile argument tactics leveled at Jobs. I don't see anyone complaining about him. And why would they? No one cares if the CEO is a complete jerk as long as good results are obtained.

Anyone who doesn't believe what I say about should read a biography of Gates. One good one is called "Hard Drive: The Making of the Microsoft Empire"
