CSCO's problems with AT&T shouldn't have any affect on their stock. The Stratacom switches have little to do with future CSCO revenue. Hardly anyone is buying them anymore other than AT&T. As bad as this current failure is, I doubt AT&T can do anything other than buy more switches. They have way too many to switch (no pun).

Are investors thinking that cisco's ticker symbol is ASND

I think the reason for this is that ASND is at parity for options expiration and that CSCO is still between strike prices. For CSCO, the MMs and public haven't determined where its going to land. Maybe after Fri., the effect of the AT&T situation will come into light.

Just my guess.
