Perhaps I am overly optimistic. I felt that Apple would do better than .15?
But not twice as much as Zacks,

Bill

Here is what I gathered regarding the various consensus estimate that has been floating around and the reason why some sources say .15 others say .16.

Basically the consensus currently puts earnings at over $21 million.
Shares outstanding is now at 132 million shares
Shares used for calculation on a diluted basis should be between 140-144 million shares.

Thus the basic EPS is 0.16 and diluted EPS is 0.15.
Yahoo, Zacks all report estimate on a diluted basis. $0.15
First Call estimates appears to be basic EPS. $0.16

Good luck all of us tomorrow.

Electric,

If there is such a thing as a whisper number, I expect that it is higher than the .15 or .16 average reported in the services. A lot of people think that Apple will have a banner quarter, including myself. Your .20 is as good a number as anyones, but like all 'whisper' numbers, it is probably just the rumor that is floating around from group to group from day to day.

My only concern, assuming sales have been as good as many on this thread seem to think, is what the costs are. That includes the cost of advertising this Q2 (which should be way up from Q1) and the cost of manufacturing computers (which should also be way up if sales are way up).

We shall see in about 26 hours.

Sam
