ALL: Thought everyone would "enjoy" Herb Greenberg's latest IOMEGA bash from his column on THESTREET.COM

ENJOY :-)

From the "help wanted classifieds'' in this ay-em's
WSJ: "President - CEO. Iomega (IOM:NYSE)...We are
looking for a seasoned, mature individual of proven
competence to take Iomega from its present sales level of
approximately $2 billion to the $10-plus billion level in the
years ahead...Our corporate goal is to make our Zip product
a standard, ultimately replacing the floppy disk on PCs.''

Never mind that the company is resorting to the classifieds
to find a new boss. Never mind that it's touting a $10 billion
figure for its future growth. (Can'tya just see the chat boards
when they get hold of that?) Never mind that demand for its
new products is lackluster, at best. The real story is that the
market for the Zip is mature, competition is beating down the
door and quite a few OEMs have even dropped the Zip. Yet
these guys are still hanging onto the dream that the Zip'll
become the standard.

Maybe that's why ex-CEO Kim Edwards quit.
