The call volume doubled is correct. I bought 10 of the Nov 15 calls myself. Why--because I expect BEL to start deployment as promised in latter half of '98. This should hopefully send the stock price up to Orckit's level.

The downside here is that:
a) BEL does nothing--ergo, I am screwed.
b) Given a phenomenal announcement by GTE, why in the world is Orckit only trading at 22 and change? This may not portend good price increases for WSTL either. GTE is starting deployments in TWO MONTHS! Why is Orckit around 22?!

Trey the stock was in the mid 50's in 1997 the high 20's in 1998 and is below 13 right now, this is not a good company to own. We are betting on contracts and deployment that hasn't happened and represents more risk than reward. As for your April call options, that is more due to your trading skills or being lucky than a company that you want to invest in.
