They've begun to cover the bigger east and midwest cities. St. Louis is as far west as they go, while looks like the heavy east is well represented. Seems to me as if they'd need more than one for those cities.

I do like this part: "I would certainly expect this to be something we'll see more of," said Hilary Mine, director of Internet research at Probe Research Inc.

Martin, I imagine that they will plug in to FNET, eventually, to cover area outside their areas, so that once FNET is up and running, they will be able to offer an even cheaper rate for calls outside the area.

Flat Rate pricing, it was only a matter of time....

I imagine that this means that LDNet is basically co-locating the Tempest at Megsinet pops. Based on the following paragraph, could their be more involvement with Franklin and Megsinet:

"MEGSINET, Inc. is at the forefront of
the convergence of voice, video, and
data transmissions provided to
customers through a single carrier over
state of the art ATM backbone
networks. While our competitors have
focused on Fortune 1000 companies,
MEGSINET's target market is secondary
cities where there are over ten million
mid-market businesses and institutions
in the United States that must
participate in the Internet
communications and commerce if they
are to stay competitive."

Michael Henry,
CEO, MEGSINET, Inc.
