Ain't that the truth??? Just think of all those wasted years in NASDAQ and NYSE stocks. THIS is a rebirth. I've been investing, off and on, for about 20 years. But, when you come right down to it, it was probably more like one year's experience repeated 19 times. And then I found SI. Kin Ah git a "AMEN" fer Ess-Ahhhh???

I agree: JAWZ is just fine, thank you.

I tried calling Chris, but he's got the "Do Not Disturb" sign out (no doubt working on a response to our posts).

JOE COPIA: a HUGE thank you for that post. It cleared up one BIG lingering question in my mind: namely, I couldn't figure out how JAWZ was going to sell their 4096 encryption if laws prevented marketing anything greater than 128 or 156 bits, or whatever the low number was.

I had visions of a guy walking into CompUSA and saying,"my competitors have broken into my computers and know everything I'm going to do before I do it. What do you have that will STOP that?"
And the salesman says,"We have this great Jaws technology with 4096 bits that we can sell you, but you can only use 128 bits of it."
Maybe it's just me, but I can't see many sales being made with that kind of salesmanship.

JOE C, you have cleared that up. So right now, JAWZ can make and sell, and the customer can take full advantage of, 4096 bits of encryption. GREAT. WONDERFUL.

Now, all we have to worry about is the FBI, and that is not something to be dismissed lightly. There are many jobs where you have to "buy in" to the culture if you're ever going to advance up the promotion ladder, or even just hold on to your job. A private sector job in a corporation with a "culture" only affects the people in that ccompany. A public sector agency with a "culture" can affect everyone's life, if they aren't held in check.

I was in the Air Force (4 years) and had countless dealings with the Defense Intelligence Agency and, I gotta tell ya, some of those guys thought the public had a right to know absolutely NOTHING. THEY should be the ones to determine what the public could and could not know. Their attitude was "There are dangers everywhere that only WE know about, and therefore we need ABSOLUTE CONTROL". Fortunately, Congress has been able to see through their paranoia and, I hope, will be able to see through it again.
