Thread, the entire Market Focus column in AVIATION WEEK is devoted to ORBI. Highlights: 1. Growing confidence in ability to deliver on basic business plan. 2. String of successful sat launches. 3. 12 add'l sats. 4. ORBCOMM in Malaysia, Brunei, and Singapore. 5. ORBI built Teledesic bus, JSA Research analyst Paul Nisbet thinks mebbe some Teledesic business ahead (tho not launches, IMO). 6. ORBCOMM operational by year end. 7. Annual ORBI growth rates: revenue - 25%; profit - 50%. 8. ORBCOMM target of 2 MM units signed up slips to 2000, and profitability in 2001 (also later than previously expected); ORBIMAGE profitable by 2000. 9. Analyst thinks price will push through the 50s "in coming months" and he has a targets of 59 by end of 1998 and 81 by end of 1999.
