<< Motorola Warned >>

Motorola has been warning since 1995. Motorola does not have anything that can distinguish itself from its competitors. As a result, business partners are not compelled to support Motorola strongly. Furthermore, Intel has a vastly superior brand name and its products are superior to its direct competitors. Motorola is behind the curve.
If the second half picks up for Intel, then the stock will trade on 1999 earnings. Your estimates are clearly pessimistic. The Celeron WILL cut into inroads made at the low-end by competitors. NSM announces a new chip that is already well behind Intel's chips. The only thing that will stop Intel's growth is a recession. Hopefully, if Asia rebounds and America and Europe continue with stable growth Intel could easily hit 150 in 1999.
