Oh hell, stockman, what do you know about networks? NOTHING is foolproof. Not even these threads, as evidenced by your rantings.

Stockman,

I've about had it with your opinions and conjecture. AT&T says it was a software problem in two of the StrataCom switches. They also said they don't know what the cause of the problem was and that they are investigating. It could be code, it could be operator error, it could be overloading, it COULD be anything. The AT&T/StrataCom network is the largest frame relay network (with more nodes) than any frame relay network in the world. Cisco/Strm have more experience in building large carrier networks than BAY or ASND...and will no doubt run into problems that companies like BAY and ASND don't even no exist. Furthmore Cisco/Strm will fix these problems putting them further ahead of BAY and ASND. The fact that these two companies haven't had a major outage is due to the fact that the networks that they have installedr are small in comparison. Every network fails at some point...the Cisco/Strm frame relay network has been running very nicely for years and years without a burp...the second one happens you and folks like you are there to gloat and point and all along have nothing of value to say. The point is, these things happen, the real question is how will Cisco handle this situation now that it has happened. I believe that Cisco will work very professionally with AT&T to resolve this problem...for obvious reasons.

Stockman, we all understand that you are "anti-Cisco"...you've made that point. I personally appreciate objective data which supports positions both for and against Cisco's continued dominance in the industry, but this soapbox crap is getting ridiculous. Until AT&T states what actually caused the problem can you stop speculating and stop posting..unless of course you have something of value to say. I for one would appreciated it. If I could set this page to not accept your posts I would because they are a waste of time.
