Gerald, this is a good point to me.

I've had this feeling for a long time - but could not exactly define the inert logic. If you track the "open interest"-numbers - sometimes huge numbers - and if you realize, that mostly institutional contractors are in obligation, it's time to get a certain healthy fear, at least to be cautious.

My (privat) clue was so far to focus in leaps and NOT to hold these leaps too long - if possible, to sell at least 6 month before they expire. I was making experiments with "normal" options during last 12 month, and I lost a lot of positions - occasionally? I don't think so.
