Technology Stocks : Ciena (CIEN) -- Ignore unavailable to you. Want to Upgrade?

djane;

what's the GS abbreviation?

After Kevin Petrie's write-up of CIEN today,
it seems that there's inside information that
the quarter will be made. Possibly the ABN/Amro
people new the inside info also. But as Intel Trader
said, when they made the announcement between
11:00-12:00 the stock didn't move. I took a quick
look about 12:30 and saw nothing happening.

So, anotherwards, maybe the ABN/Amro upgrade spurred
some checking by who knows who and enter Mary
Henry, lead underwriter of Goldman Sachs. ( I wonder
if they do lead underwriting for CIENA - anybody
know??? If so, this could be the sucker's rally
mentioned a few posts ago
.)

I hope not, because then MMs would seem to have good
visibility for a quarter or so, and might start
piling up on CIEN.

Hmm, should we buy more, hold, or sell???

Any comments/thoughts anybody?

Joe

Djane,

I think I follow you. I just wanted to point to the AT&T connection that Petrie pointed out.

I think that is very significant. Petrie, as I think you are suggesting, has another inside source at GS to tell him what Henry says.

<<It is unclear how Henry's comments were disseminated;
she did not return a call seeking comment.>>

Is Petrie talking about the quote that Henry reported (Ciena CFO Joe Chinnici is "very optimistic" about the April quarter) or the he said she said listed below?

<<Henry says some contracts might be unveiled shortly,
according to a trader and a buy-side source>>

I like a good mystery and find myself somehow drawn to watch the spectacle of Jerry Springer when he is on. I have paid my entrance fee to "CIENA DOWNS" and fully expect the Long shot to come in to WIN in the ninth race.

Stay tuned this is gonna be interesting. If this horse falters at all tomorrow I am in for more of the action.

All IMHO.

Regards,

Milkman
