>>There is A LOT of money working to push Vivus shares down into the grave. At this point<<

This morning I was very bullish on VVUS and seeing all those accumulations! ofcourse this was untill I saw them dump all the shares they had just bought to take out the buyers at 9. Even took out our shorter friend ML who was shorting shares to the buyers but ML made their cut either way. When i saw that was when I said darn, these people are willing to spend money to push the price down. Since there was not enough buyers its easy to do at this point so we will just have to see. I seen the same thing in other stocks but they can only do it for so long. But these are some deep pockets there. And they have already made so much money it makes these so called shorts yapping on here look like cub scouts!

VLAD, while I think that you are a very knowledgeable person. There are something that you might have overlooked.

Learn when to take loss is very important in investment. I don't agree with your logic on selling your shares and the shorters can make money. The issue is, when the stocks perform bad, if you don't sell, other people will. It's a statistic-and-market issue. Unless you have millions of shares, you won't be able to control the market.

I sold my VVUS bought at $12 for $10 last week. Now I buy them back at $8 1/2, it only needs to go to $10 1/2 to cover my loss. If I was too possessed, I will have to wait until $12 to break even. Now I can make a profit if VVUS go to $12. I think that you have to learn to write covered calls at least; you don't have to sell your shares, simply buy the calls back later at a lower price. Write covered calls is the best way to make money from the shorters; shorters are lovely sometimes, they help you to make money from volatilities.

It does not always work in your favor. But this is the stock market and we have to learn to protect ourselves, even the best stock in the world will drop some time.
