Just listened to CC. Was more revealing than usual. A few things struck me.

1). For the 1st time, Intel commented on ASP. I think they wanted to stress that their average ASP is not going thru the floor. Also, I don't think they would use this metric now unless they though it would improve in the future. Bullish sign that the bottom is very near.

2). Transition to PII occur faster than thought. This is significant and bad news for the clones. Should lead to a nice ramp in 2H.

3). Intel stood up for Celeron. In fact, said demand was strong for both new BX systems and Celeron. The cpq announcement tonite was also a pleasant surprise. Also, they defended performance of celeron by saying it performed better than PMMX systems. The target audience is games, multimedia, the Web etc. I expect the marketing to target this area.

All in all, very pleased with CC
