Eugene, you ask what does Cymer do? So I get the impression that you just bought in, or are about to.
Cymer is a nitche (sp) co that seems, to finally, to be back in Wall Streets favor.
If you really want to to do your homework, might I suggest that you go back to this thread to about Nov1997.
Good Luck

The saint!!

Thank you!! Thank you very much!!

Cymi. What is it that they do anyway? Please let us know all about the company so we can decide if we agree that it is the next BIG THING.

"CYMI the clearest BUY in high tech laser equipment"

I don't understand your question. He gave you the symbol and his guarantee that whatever they do is good- what else do you need to know?

ps - I heard from thems who know that the insternat or something is also going up. Buy some of that, too.

OT_Hi, I lurk here since I view AMAT as a bellwether and this is a high quality thread usually. Also looking for an unrealistic entry price!

To answer your question about CYMI, they make the DUV illumination source for ASMLF, Nikon, CANON, SVGL wafer steppers needed for sub 250 nm design rules. They dominate their market more than AMAT does. Only 2 competitors ( Komatsu and a division of COHERENT, Lamda Physik) which have yet to demonstrate the combination of technology, user friendliness, service to challenge CYMI. No competitive laser source is believed in production by enduser at this time.

CYMI was a darling of the street last year (nearly $50) and got caught in SEA flu, shorts, and naive IR during crisis. I bought in at what I thought was support level in the fall (freefall!) of 97 and again at the bottom ( $15). Company has since introduced new products and dramatically improved IR. Stock buyback put a bottom in the stock and it has been taking out major resistance levels ( 16, 18, 20, 22) last couple of mos. Tickling 24 now with much bigger vol.

Since these flashbulbs for the cameras (wafer steppers) wearout, they have good replacement business.

Seems like a pure play on sub 250nm design rules.
