Yes, I am glad that this reporting qtr for Intel is now past history and we can see a bit clearer what is going on. I guess we have to wait a little longer to obtain some nice profits in Intel again. Sales in Europe, North America and Japan were not great and it was a surprise that sales in Asia-Pacific were actually better than thought. This reminds me that my nephew in Germany, who is in the computer business over there, told me last year that most businesses there could care less about Intel etc. and were mostly buying the cheapest computers available, therefore cheaper microprocessors also. He said at that time that brand names there were out. I remember posting it on here. In hindsight we would all have been better off selling at that time and picking Intel up again below 70. Intel insiders also were a good indicator. They did sell more than usual. Well, this is now all past history and at least it looks like Intel is now on track again. Let's hope that their forecast of being on their way again by the second half of 1998 will come true. This has been quite a trying time for the PC industry. Buyers got the benefit of all those price wars but we felt the impact in our tech portfolio.

CPQ is also done reporting and the techs in general look better today. Like always, I feel that we tech investors will be rewarded for hanging in there. All this crap about AMD and NSM is for the birds. Maybe I am an old die hard when it comes to Intel but one thing I am pretty sure of is: If AMD and NSM make it, Intel definitely will make it a lot better. For us bystanders it looks like Intel did come to the low end party a little late but sometimes it is better in the long run to come a little late than too early. Maybe it could be the reason that Intel still has profits instead of losses. gg. It will be interesting to see how all this works out. Hopefully great for our "Strategy for Achieving Wealth". gg.

So far so good. Intel is being traded quite actively today. The bulls and bears are fighting it out. The bulls are ahead. There is big buying at 77 and big selling at around 79. Some buys and sells have a 2 point spread.

Alright that's it. Let's hope the worst is behind us.
