What happened to the DVD from Apple? Growl! :-)

So my VC guy says (I know, I'm small potato's!), go be happy, max out a G3. I do it over the weekend at the Apple online store (which is a great piece of online Web commerce+interface, even turned down my Apple loan in about 3 minutes flat!) and see I can add a DVD option for only 100 bucks and change. Great!!! I go back yesterday (Tuesday) and the DVD option is gone!

Sales guy says they had to remove it for "unknown" reasons...". C'mon Apple, Creative Labs have had them in the pipe for months!

O'well, I DVD'less for now. If anyone has the real reason for no DVD from Apple now, please tell all! At least the G3 is on it's way... (2 weeks they say)...

"I was right in December. Hadd Apple not cut costs the way it did ti would have gone down. I agree they cam back more than I thought. So let us look at Apple sales in a year and see how much bigger they are, if at all."

You were right?? I don't know whether to flutter my eyes in disbelief or fart in your general direction. Apple's cost cutting has been ongoing for the last two years. Up to just weeks ago you did nothing but bitch about Apple and Steve Jobs. And now you're saying you're right all along for saying that Apple should cut costs. Duh! Gee thanks Bill, you are so smart...Had you not share your insight, Apple might have decided to do away with all the cost cutting in the past 2 years.

"When things looked bleak Jobs did some of the right things. Not all mind you, but enough to get Apple into a better cash flow position, and heap all the losses into the past. What is left now is a smaller leaner Company that makes a profit but is still in decline..."

Are you giving credit to Jobs now? Again my eyes flutter.
Here are a couple of your insightful comments regarding Jobs just a short while ago.

>>Sowbug; Jobs must walk the plank. He has no ongoing role at AAPL, staying in the wings the way he does means he will screw up any new direction the new CEO wants if it does not agree with Job's view. Yet he will not do the right thing, he is like the boorish guest at a party who stays till the end and makes it end early due to his presence.<<

>>The best place for Jobs is on the far side of the moon, where all there can give him their undivided attention and we will not hear a squeak from him.<<

Cost cutting had been in progress for many quarters, PowerComputing was killed last Sept, G3, new marketing campaign and AppleStore were introduced in Nov, other major changes at Apple were already in place. Most of us here recognized that in terms of Technology, Manufacturing, and Marketing...they were all improving and Jobs had the charisma and leader to lead the turn around. The fact is you didn't...so spare me with your "I was right" crap.

Bill, a little consistency from you would be nice. If you want to bitch about Apple and Jobs, feel free to continue. Your jumping from one side to another really throws me off.

PS. I'll try to come up with a meaningful post today...instead of just flaming poor ol' Bill
