OK, Keeping in mind that I was not involved in this. It was back in 89 or 90 with a small software company. I bought in around 1.00 and got out at 2.50, but there was a gentleman that started shorting the company and the price really started to fall. Then he came out and said that he was going to short it to 0. At around .25 someone said to start calling for certificates and got some very big investors involved and I watched it run to over 9.00 in less than 2 days. It was told that the gentleman who shorted had to pay whatever was asked to cover as by law he only had x number of days to produce the actual certificates and he almost went bankrubpt.
Now DGIV is not like that company, but if the MM's are over selling I don't know why the same principle would not apply. They as well have only x number of days to produce and if no one is selling so that they can, they have no other choice than to raise the price until they do get all that they need.
