Would you let me know how the installation go? I'm seriously considering Red Hat but on a separate machine.
It is a ritual to re-re-reinstall doze95 every 6 months. The latest was this week.
Since all I do at home is browsing and minimal word processing, I think linux would replace my doze95. I'd like to hear how things compare performance wise, if you get to install linux.
thanks.

Every person counts. If you believe your vote matters then do this.
What is system commander? You don't need a boot manager, Linux comes with one. I boot Linux with the NT boot manager.

>>Does anyone have any warnings before I screw up my computer?

If you know and/or like Unix then you'll love it. No screwing up about it.

>>I may try Applix Anyware for a word processor and spreadsheet. If I do I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have heard many good things about Applix. Im getting Applix when I get some time. You can download Word Perfect 7 for Linux trial version for free. Also Star Office is supposed to be good.

I am running Slackware. Let us know how it goes. I can help with basic questions and there's always comp.linux, etc.
