First look at CPQ's $1,220 w/o monitor Celeron box:

zdnet.com

Performance
Comparing this machine's performance to that of other
systems we've tested recently is very difficult, because
of its configuration (for example, the system has no L2 cache). The Deskpro EP
6266 had 32MB of RAM and an ATI Rage IIC AGP graphics board with 2MB of
nonupgradable EDO RAM. Because of the graphics board's memory limitations, we
couldn't test at a color depth greater than 16 bits. The last time we tested corporate
managed PCs with 32MB of RAM and at a 16-bit color depth was for our December
2 roundup ("The Best PCs for '97 & '98"). The processors ranged from a 166-MHz
Pentium MMX to a 233-MHz Pentium MMX (the systems had either 256K of L2
cache or, more typically, 512K). The Deskpro EP 6266's Winstone
score--15.3--was a bit lower than that of the average 233-MHz Pentium MMX PC
in that roundup. In fact, it was only about one point better than that of the roundup's
166-MHz Pentium MMX PC. And its CPUmark score was actually ten points lower
than that system's.

Fuchi Wu - Re: "we know MediaGX-133 is fast enough for 98% of all PC users."

Then why have 98% of all PC users bought Intel or AMD-based PCs?

Maybe they know something that you don't know.
