>>Moss private placement?

I've been trying to figure out how to value Moss. I mean, how do you value a gorilla who has done it with stealth marketing?

On Vantive, our old friend Charles is out with an earnings preview:

"VNTV continues to execute well although management has been clear
about a DSO increase in Q1 based on seasonality. The company
continues to build momentum in SFA (sales force automation) and has a
near term opportunity to exploit any uncertainty around the Siebel-
Scopus combination. The Lucent distribution agreement kicked in Q1
and sales force productivity seems to be improving from what we hear
although quotas are flat for this year. We are comfortable with our
$0.13 estimate in the quarter on $35 million in revenues but think the
earnings upside is more likely to materialize in the second half of
the year when the products from the ICC acquisition, service inventory
and service procurement, have been completed and integrated into the
Vantive product line. Release 7.5 is on track and we expect an
increase in "suite buying". About ten customers per quarter are
buying an entire suite of Vantive products and we'd expect to see this
number double by year-end."
