Dave, those are some interesting candidates you've chosen. I have difficulty agreeing with shorting strong stocks such as SAPE (now up 7/8). You do so with the odds tilted against you (remember my CWTR post a long while back?), and as a speculator (that's what traders are), it is our job to maximize the odds in our favor.

Now for a short, perhaps CKR would be much better. Candles like today and the deteriorating trend make this one a better candidate.

Hi Dave,

A significant portion of my portfolio is in cash (about 70%), and being in such a position, I'm continually looking for trading opportunities. I'm becoming more cautious with a segment of the broad markets, particularly because of the sudden emergence of the mega momentum issues like KTEL, HCOM, MARG, SEVL, all up over hundreds of percent in just a few trading days. (Off the record speculation: SEVL's got more room to run as the big momentum boys continue stomping and leaving footprints).

Scary, isn't it.

Regards,

Rainier
