ATI's RAGE PRO(tm) AGP chip selected by Toshiba
as the graphic force inside two new
Equium series of corporate desktop systems

Another in a series of corporate design wins for ATI Technologies Inc.

Toronto, Canada, April 15, 1998: ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY) today
announced that its RAGE PRO(tm) 3D, 2D and video acceleration chip will provide
the graphics power to the new Toshiba Equium 7100 and 7000 series of
corporate desktop PCs. ATI's RAGE graphics accelerators, incorporating leading
edge graphics and AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port), will enable corporate users
of the two new series of Equium PCs to develop state-of-the-art 3D imaging,
corporate Intranet systems and business-winning presentations.

ATI's selection further increases penetration of RAGE PRO technology into
corporate systems, where high performance 3D, fast 2D and video acceleration
applications are becoming standard business requirements. ATI's RAGE PRO
AGP chip is included with the Equium 7100, which ships with a choice of the
new Intel 400MHz or 350MHz Pentium II processors, and the 440BX chipset.
The RAGE PRO is also featured in the 7000 series PCs, with speeds up to
300MHz Intel Pentium II processor (7000S), or 333MHz Intel Pentium II
processor (7000D). The Equium 7100 and 7000 series come standard with 2MB
of SGRAM with optional expansion to 4MB or 6MB of SGRAM for added
performance and capabilities.

"ATI's RAGE PRO graphics solution provides the industry's best combination of
graphics performance, reliability and consistency across our new Equium 7100
and 7000 series," said Gary Elsasser, vice president of Worldwide Product
Planning, Computer Systems Division, Toshiba America Information Systems,
Inc. "By incorporating the ATI solutions in current and future Equium products,
we are able to provide our customers with a consistent graphics solution, reducing
customer qualification and software configuration time."

"The corporate desktop PC sector is adopting ATI's RAGE accelerators with tremendous
enthusiasm, demonstrated by its inclusion in the new Toshiba systems," said Ed Grondahl, vice
president of product marketing, ATI Technologies Inc. "The RAGE PRO AGP chip is ideal for
meeting the new multimedia requirements of corporate systems."

ATI's RAGE PRO, the most complete AGP controller on the market
With the massive amounts of visual data that AGP can handle, ATI's AGP solutions create the
richest possible 3D and video applications. At the forefront of the AGP revolution, ATI is the
market leader in supplying full AGP solutions and is currently the only provider of the AGP 2X
specification with SideBand Addressing (SBA) and Pipelining. AGP dramatically increases the
amount of textures that can be displayed on the screen because it allows the use of main system
memory for 3D, rather than only the limited memory of a graphics controller.

ATI's RAGE PRO chip, the fastest integrated graphics controller on the market today, produces
the highest level of realism in 2D and 3D applications for corporate users and business
applications. Enabling high-performance graphics on all Pentium II systems with the 440BX and
440LX AGP chipset, ATI is the only graphics solution offering the hardware and software
needed to take full advantage of AGP

For the corporate end user, the RAGE PRO TURBO chip and ATI's driver software promises
robust delivery of mission critical business applications, scalability across multiple platforms,
ease of installation, and efficient system management, including update of ATI graphics, through
support of DMI. In addition, ATI's display drivers are Windows certified, and are backward
compatible with other ATI products, as well as forward compatible.

The success of ATI with corporate PC OEM manufacturers means ATI's RAGE PRO is driving
the emergence of multimedia applications in the business computing space.
