Tom

you are correct. Ben Anlantis (sp) does a chart of SUNW every month which gives the amount of max. pain and SUNW does tend to gravitate toward that price range. I don't know if he does other stocks but he may if you ask.

Tom,

I don't believe APCO has options expiring in april. The first batch expire in May. Right now the may 15 calls have the highest open interest(280). The may 12.5 have an oi of 150.

On the put side. The 12.5's have an oi of 210. That's about it for may.

But you are right about this so called "option effect". Just look at ASND lately. Drops a full point in 15 minutes on very little volume to close just above 40. Gee, you think the mm's want to keep it around 40 for the expiration. Takes the fun out of the market for a week or so.

Tom, options will make a stock more volatile and very much so near expiration. but believe this it is not always down for the near calls
as i have just experienced for the better of my trades fortunately.

IMNR APRIL 10$ CALLS check the trading here up 400 % in 2 [two] days

besides MM, insiders can buy in to influence also.

manipulation madness.
