Again with the personal attacks. Et tu, Rodney?

>>After two years and several hundred trades with Datek, I remain one of if not their most satisfied customer.

I trade that many trades in a month, so with all due respect, I speak from just a little more experience than you.

I have said many times that they are great when running on all cylinders, but when they screw up, they are terrible to deal with. Your comment that they have lousy customer service is what I spoke about.

And yes, I have resorted to having to print to files all screens that confirm trades, messages, and end of day portfolios, as well as daily activity screens. Did you think you had to do that before you had any problems? I think not.

>>>One must first know the limitation of a product, he must then decide if he can live with those
limitations, finally if decides he still wants the product and buys it then if he bitches about
limitations that he decided to accept he is indeed a whiner!! That does not preclude advocating
changes that will improve the product or service, but when one rants and raves about
something they should have expected, knowing the territory, then it is tantrum throwing and
ineffective.

I have made just that point many times on various threads where people just bitch all the time, but don't leave and find another vendor. I also made it here various times, so I suggest you catch up on your reading here. And I have taken most of my dollars elsewhere, but still can suggest improvements and discuss these issues with others. I stopped ranting and raving a long time ago, I was just pointing out to Steve how I differed with him.

I'm glad you are happy with them, and I'm sure they will be happy to have you as an investor. Please allow us who do want to see a better product continue to discuss the issues without being labeled ignorant and a whiner by you. You only demean yourself by doing so.

Good luck.

I could not agree with you more rodney. While I have not been with datek since 1996, I did open my account last june and have had nothing but great fills with nearly all of my buys and sells. Mind you, that I trade anywhere from 150 - 300 trades a month. I promptly closed my other account at americanexpress.com. now that service was a JOKE.

I have a question for the thread though. Did anyone else read the article in forbes, first week in april, about the soes system. I believe that the article suggested that trades made to the island only cost about 1 dollar per transaction. If this is the case maybe datek should offer volume discounts. When is datek going to go public?
