The flowers---that's what would have done it. And maybe the ginger. Because otherwise you might be buying broccoli for the kids. Or because cancer runs in your family. I buy lots of broccoli. And carrots and spinach. And box wine, too--But somehow they know...they know--it's not for a romantic dinner.Maybe it's the three gallons of milk. Or the giant boxes of sugary cereals. THe ten frozen pizzas and large containers of All-Sport? The two large jars of Extra-Strength Oryx Acne Cream? Or is it the t-shirt that says "Basketball Mom" and the Texas Rangers baseball cap? the dirty Keds? Maybe-- But if they just watched for a few more minutes they'd see me put the top down on my gold Sebring, don my Oakleys, and peel out of the parking lot. Ha. There's more to me than meets the eye of a grocery clerk.
