I don't think that there is any reason to panic. Take advantage of a situation and be rewarded. It is very typical for ATI to have such a trading pattern. I am actually surprised that volume is up by so much from 2-3 months ago. We used to have 20,000 shares traded in one day and be down by 2-3%, now look at improved liquidity of the stock. This stock has (my own) target of $87 dollars within next 6 month and it will reach it slowly.

Attention Business/Technology Editors:

ATI SELECTED BY COMPAQ FOR DESKPRO EN SERIES AND DESKPRO EP SERIES OF CORPORATE DESKTOP SYSTEMS

RAGE PRO chips and boards power the new line of desktop systems

TORONTO, April 16 /CNW/ - ATI Technologies Inc. (TSE:ATY) today announced
that ATI RAGE(TM) graphics accelerator products, including the RAGE PRO, have
been selected by Compaq, the world's largest supplier of desktop computer
systems, to power the full range of new Compaq Deskpro corporate desktop
systems.
In addition to providing leading-edge 3D/2D and video acceleration for
all business applications, ATI's RAGE PRO accelerator offers state-of-the-art
corporate IT management functionality, resulting in the most advanced graphics
enabled systems for corporate use.
The new Compaq Deskpro models include the Deskpro EN Series, a network
enterprise solution, which features ATI's RAGE PRO TURBO AGP graphics
accelerator chip, as well as new Intel 440BX AGP chipset. The RAGE PRO TURBO,
in addition to delivering industry-leading 3D, 2D and video acceleration,
provides support for remote IT management and is an ideal partner for the
Intel 440BX AGP chipset.
The price/performance oriented Deskpro EP Series features Pentium II and
the new Celeron processor from Intel, and provides an optimal blend of price
and performance for the corporate space. It ships with the ATI RAGE PRO TURBO
AGP graphics card with 4MB SGRAM and the Intel 440BX chipset.
''The decision by Compaq to use ATI RAGE technology throughout the new
Deskpro model line confirms ATI's leadership in bringing new multimedia
business applications to the corporate desktop space,'' said Ed Grondahl, vice
president of product marketing, ATI Technologies Inc. ''ATI is very pleased to
again partner with Compaq on an important new product line, one which will
introduce a new era in corporate computing.''

The Compaq Deskpro EN and EP Series
The Compaq Deskpro EN Series is designed for outstanding serviceability
and manageability throughout the PC lifecycle, making it the ideal PC for
enterprise network computing. The series features an extensive selection of
Intel Pentium II processors, including up to speeds of 400MHz. The Compaq
Deskpro EP Series, designed as a value-added corporate system, is available
with the new Intel Celeron 266MHz processor or a wide range of Intel Pentium
II processors up to 400MHz.
All Deskpro EN Series models, as well as select Deskpro EP Series models,
come equipped with ATI's RAGE PRO TURBO AGP 2X graphics solution, in chip or
board form, with 4MB SGRAM, that supplies 3D, advanced 2D, teleconferencing
and multimedia performance. ATI's support of DMI (Desktop Management
Interface) enables both Deskpro Series to feature sophisticated Intelligent
Manageability capabilities, which permit management of individual PCs and ATI
graphics controllers from a single network point, delivering great time and
cost savings to the end user.

ATI's RAGE PRO TURBO, the most complete AGP controller on the market
ATI, at the forefront of the AGP revolution, is the market leader in
supplying full AGP solutions and is currently the only provider of the full
AGP 2X specification with SideBand Addressing (SBA), Pipelining and AGP
texturing. ATI's AGP solutions can handle with ease the massive amounts of
visual data and richest 3D and video applications AGP can create. AGP
dramatically increases the amount of textures that can be displayed on the
screen because it allows the use of main system memory for 3D, rather than the
limited memory of a graphics controller.
ATI's RAGE PRO TURBO AGP chip, the fastest integrated graphics controller
on the market today, produces the highest level of realism currently possible
in 3D and 2D rendering for corporate users and business applications. It
enables high-performance graphics on all Pentium II systems with the 440BX and
440LX AGP chipset.
For the corporate end user, the RAGE PRO TURBO chip and ATI's driver
software delivers rock-solid reliability and robust delivery of mission
critical business applications. ATI's graphics accelerators support corporate
network manageability tools such as DMI, ensuring efficient system management,
and reduce the total cost of operation while delivering seamless
interoperability, primary concerns for all corporate system administrators.
With DMI, IT managers can track, control and update the configuration of
individual PC stations from a central point, including the global network
upgrading of ATI graphics drivers on all client users. ATI also supports
network scalability, because only one driver is required to bridge all network
users with an ATI graphics subsystem in a corporate environment, including
both low and end-high PCs. In addition, all ATI display drivers are fully
Microsoft certified for Windows 95 and NT, and support the PC 98 design
specification.
The selection of ATI further increases the penetration of RAGE technology
into corporate systems, where high performance 3D, fast 2D and video
acceleration applications are becoming a standard business requirement. ATI's
products will empower corporate users of the Compaq Deskpro to develop
state-of-the-art 3D imaging, corporate Intranet systems and business-winning
presentations. The success of ATI with corporate PC OEM manufacturers means
ATI's RAGE PRO is driving the emergence of multimedia applications in the
business computing space.
