Just one comment on your excellent summary: Klamath (Pentium II), in addition to being the first shrink of the P6, added the MMX instruction set.

Back to the "P6 architecture" issue again if I may.

I have read conflicting reports about the P7 designation- one saying that Merced will be called P7 and one saying that Willamette will be P7. Can you clarify this for me?
