<<Lets not forget>> MANIPULATION!

Some clients may be shorting, or wanting to buy in at lower prices. Furthermore, there are plenty of exotic strategies that can be used that major players can get into at attractive prices by manipulating prices. Lets face it, if the MMs want to open Intel at 60 tomorrow, they can't be stopped if they join together. Afterall, this is the same group of folks that had one MM asking 100 for MSFT only efew weeks ago. I think Intel should move to the NYSE, there is no question it is getting no respect on the NASDAQ relative to other firms. Also, aside from Intel's great run from early 96 to mid 97, the stock has always traded at a serious PE discount relative to many of its so called peers. It really doesn't matter what I think though, its what the big boys want, so I am trying to go with the flow.

>>Kurlak isn't stupid, just unethical.

Well, you'll just have to include all analysts in that 'unethical' group, especially now. Companies that report trash earnings are getting upgraded left and right. It's disgusting. And it's all because the brokerage houses have to cover their a...er...I mean huge positions in all of the overpriced stocks out there.

Ibexx, Re: >"Kurlak isn't stupid, just unethical."<

Maybe not even unethical. IMO the lak in Kurlak stands for LACKEY. This guy has proven he is front line bidding for Merrill big wig profiteer's! they are the unethical!!!

Ibexx: so for this Friday we are headed to the 70 strike price, 65 or what, following the TK/ML options/move-the-market for profits strategy???

<Kurlak isn't stupid, just unethical> You guys are like kids.
What do you think the market is for?
Answer: to pump money out of small traders like most
of the people over here.
How? To make a wave of FUD (or hype) on unstable stocks.

Kurlak is just doing his job. MMs make preparations
in advance, Kurlak makes "predictions" at right moment
(a la "inflection point"), most newbies follow
(pressured by FUD), and money are pumped out.
They are professionals - they create and dictate
market conditions to certain extent, you are mostly
dilettantes/observers.

Who do you think have an advantage in the market?
Those who create "opinions" and "expectations",
or those who listens to their prospects in a shiver?
Just my "theory".

Take care,

Ali

The April max-pain-point (the point at which the
aggregrate value of all outstanding April options
vs. strike is the lowest) is around $75 but anywhere
between $75 and $80 would be close enough (ie. the
slope is very flat between $75 and $80). So no,
I don't think TK is trying to manipulate the stock
price for the sake of option positions.
