No I agree with you. I think you and your child have to, one- have the capacity for empathy (and not everyone does, for whatever reason) and, two-you have to be educated enough to illustrate the broad plain of thought for your child (ren) so you can spread the banquet of religion and philosophy before them, and, three-you have be open minded enough not to be crushed if your children do choose to believe in something you can't. Although I wouldn't like it if my children became members of cult type religions- because those generally try to separate believers from their families- I have no problem with them believing in any deity (s)they wish, as long as it makes them happy kind people.
