None of this is material new news. PSFT is a potential acquirer, it just seems unlikely right now. I'm not sure what the current "state of relations" is between the companies. I've heard stories in the past of a rocky start to their partnership. But my banking world contacts keep telling me that the recent psft rumors are just "street buzz" rumors and shouldn't be taken seriously. However, even though Melissa was very very very reluctant to admit it, these things can change very quickly. Take a look at Siebel's attempt to buy clarify and then buy scopus all in a wonderfully thoughtful 14 day period. TD
