Sorry Paul,

I never project any numbers based upon "typical". They always disappoint people after the fact. All you can do is search for pertinent information that will give you the right prospective as to UP or DOWN.

Yours Hype-free,

Shoot1st

You may want to exercise some caution here. PESC (Pool Energy) was up 3 full points on no news. The boost in oil prices today helped NORT a lot. KEG (Key Energy) a highly regarded driller is trading with a P/E of 14:1 according to Yahoo.

The news release said the operate 16 rigs, but I would check with the company to find out how many are leased and what day rates they are charging. Someone on the Yahoo thread called the CFO a few weeks ago and said only 9 of the rigs were leased. They may have leased more since then but I would check.

The "strictly drillers" thread sometimes quotes day rates although they are mostly into off-shore drillers. I was under the impression that they were coming down.

Regards,
Chris

I just checked the drillers thread. They're talking about the rebound in the Oil Service Index (OSX). Looks like other companies are reporting strong earnings and day rates are improving.

Chris
