I'd love to hear how she justifies herself.

I don't doubt someone will write a book about it. All I know is that she claims to be "in love". And was willing to give up her family and go to jail for it. AND she also evidently WANTED to have these children. Yeah, I DO find it strange.

Penni, excuse me if this has already been mentioned--I'm jumping in here right in the middle of the discussion about the teacher without reading the 376 posts which have occurred at Rambi faster than I could read them.

When you say you would love to know the teacher's psychologicals--are you aware she is manic depressive??

She justifies herself by believing this young kid is the love of her life, obviously, but she has FOUR young children with her husband, who were very excited when their mother got out of prison because they wanted to see her. I believe her youngest child is four, from this union, and the oldest perhaps thirteen.

I think that she is not only mentally ill, but may have stopped taking her medication as soon as she was released the first time. All of this was discussed at length in People magazine, but my groceries sailed through quickly and the clerk was waiting for a check before I quite finished the article. Sorry!!

Penni -- How can one ask for a justification of an obsession? For whatever reason, this woman has ruined her life because she is obsessed with the kid, and it is unlikely that anyone - even she - will ever know why. Most likely is that she was herself seduced (sexually abused?) by someone who reminds her of the kid.
