I, too, would like to know how moving to 0.25 micron processes can reduce manufacturing costs by 60%. Sounds pretty impossible.

Currently, the 0.25 micron Deschutes is 35% smaller than the 0.35 ,icron Pentium II - so that would simplisticly imply a 35% cost reduction - assuming per centage yields are comparable and wafer costs are not too dissimilar.

There may be future cost reductions by further compaction of the Deschutes - but I think 60% is stretch.
