Corel's Cowpland believes jeers will turn to cheers

Shareholder Milan Stolarik, who voted against Cowpland's re-election, later demanded to know whether Cowpland would resign as president and chief executive if he did not fulfill his promise to achieve profitability in 1998. "I don't want to dump on the company but I do want to see management produce, and if they don't produce, they've got to take responsibility," Stolarik said after the meeting. Cowpland said the challenge to his leadership would not be an issue, because Corel had absorbed the pains of restructuring in 1997 and had only dividends ahead. "I don't think that will be a problem...the goal is to be profitable. I guess there's no such thing as guarantees, but we feel comfortable that we're heading in that direction," Cowpland said.

From this statement, this tells me that Con Cowpland is still up to his same old tricks. If he is so confident why doesn't he put up or shut up?
The only way to get rid of Con Cowpland is when he runs into more financial troubles and has to dumps the rest of his holdings.

Luckly I took my lumps last year on this one. Still lurking but won't touch it with a ten foot pole until Con Cowpland gets the axe which looks like Hell will freeze over before this happens.
