INTEL CORP said that it expects its revenues in the 3Q of 1998 to be higher than those in the 2Q. "Starting from 3Q, we are expecting volume...to pick up once again," Michael Aymar, Intel vice president and consumer product group general manager, told a news conference in Tokyo. He said this would follow a slight dip in revenue volume in the 2Q against the 1Q. Aymar said the company's shipments of chips would be helped by a recovery in the personal computer industry it expects in the 3Q. He said sluggish earnings results in the 1Q were due to a nearly worldwide weakness in PC demand, especially in Japan. (Reuters 12:53 AM ET 04/15/98)
