Lucretius,
Hi!!! There is one difference between Michael and some of the other "wonderful" CEO's that just look at their companies through "rose colored glasses".......Michael tells the truth....and he has for a long time....I never intended to make a great deal of money when I first bought this stock in early 96...but, it started to move...so, I read about it on this thread almost from the first week of it....well, I am not the most intelligent guy so I kept a history of this company...and if you have followed this thread for any length of time...I talk from that collection....and; quite frankly I don't care to discuss the stock with the arrogant snobs that come on this thread and attempt to scare people out of their shares with untruths and flat out lies...you'd be surprised of what some of the current bears have said many months ago that I collected suspecting they'd be back 70 pts later attempting to ruin others with the same hubris and deceptive untruths...I just felt compelled to add you have points that are valid...but, Michael is for real...If you had read and followed his words....and believe me...I waited quite a long time before I too realized this guy is something special....but, he shoots from the heart and from facts...he calls the shots as they are...I am attempting to be nice to you with regards to your bullish attitude towards the market in general...Dell is no different...other than it will continue to outgrow many others and perhaps all of them again....

I leave you with this....Michael predicted just about everything that is occurring now...he was kind about how he was saying this with regards to the other companies.....but, recently he is aware of the skeptics....he is over throwing all the others and doesn't want anyone to think he is slowing down with them..quite frankly,I enjoy his recent upbeat attitude toward the questions he is being asked...being more aggressive in his statements has given more people a chance to understand his confidence...I noticed this long ago with just his smile....IMO there is nothing wrong with being confident and openly stating where they are going.....an example of this occurred last summer when he predicted "we will kick the asses off the competition in the server and workstation markets".....please check out this recent article....I'm jumping up and down now reading it....

Don't bet against Dell....his predictions are not just rose colored predictions....they are truths that just take time to be released....

Best, Kemble

Lucretius, not every CEO talks that way. It seems to me that we've heard warnings from INTC and CPQ. I think that Grove or Pfeiffer are telling the truth as they see it, and I believe that Michael Dell is also telling the truth as he sees it. If you recall (in the case of Compaq) that Mason came out with a fairly rosy picture which was promptly corrected by Pfeiffer. This is very important in a CEO. This failure to communicate the truth has gotten Mory Eijabat of ASND and Wiggins of OXHP in a lot of trouble. I am certain these lessons have not been lost on Michael Dell.

Last quarter many people were skeptical of M. Dell's bullish stance. As I recall it, it turned out that his comments were, if anything conservative.

TTFN,
CTC
