TECHNICIANS are cool but fundamental factors far outweigh....

and have for many years. We live in a much different world with dramatically improved communication. We instantly know everything. Historical data is no longer relevant.....401K programs and baby boomers who always buy on dips, wars broadcast on CNN......no inflation for years....low unemployment....huge foreign investments in the US stock market.....so many things have changed. Plus when we have had a bad correction, today it seems to last a day rather than a month or two. Even in a bullmarket 10-20 years ago, you would have never seen such a quick recovery happen.

ELLIOT WAVE and all "old" ways of measuriong the market are outdated in my opinion.....I just find it fascinating that so many of you RELY so heavily on Mr. Plonk (sp?) or other technicians. That's my real point

I have followed other charting threads on SI and those people are totally oblivious to fundamental factors (i.e. I laugh when they can't figure out why a breakout didn;t occur that they had forecast when I know the company just announced a bad earnings report)

Again, charts are valuable if all the many variables in this new age remains stable, but any news breaks, watch out. I use them for finding support and resistance myself, but to forecast dramatic drops in the DOW because of a wave reading......hmmmm.......

just like to see you guys admit that you are wrong way more often than you are right; if you are doing it only for fun, then more power to ya....I can see how it would be fascinating to predict, just don;t expect us to buy put or calls based on your predictions
