We are all in this for money. But we should not assume that every one is so superficially motivated. Some people have a desire to be somebody. To achieve something.Jimmy Chin is one of those people. It's about being a champion. There was a line in the movie "Heaven Can Wait".Something like,"They can take your youth, your looks, your hair, your money, but if you go out there today and win, then you'll be a champion-and no one can ever take that away from you."
In the movie "Down Hill Racer" there is a scene when Robert Redford went home for a visit before going to the Olympics. His daddy asked him why he did it(skiing) and Redford replied,"I want to be a champion."
Well,Goldman Sachs and all the other investment bankers wouldn't touch Jimmy or his little company. I don't know why.Maybe b/c he wasn't in the right club, wasn't chummy with the right people,wasn't-whatever.But he has the heart of a champion and he is going to be one in the I P Telephony game.He is smart ,energetic, has a great product and all any of you have to do is be patient b/c you are being carried on the shoulders of a champion. How do I know?Because I talked to him today for about twenty minutes and, folks, money is not the measure of Jimmy Chin.He hears a different calling.Money is merely incidental to the challenge and the victory.
